Out in the cold
We decided to create this page because we've had so many people asking for help on behalf of a friendly stray cat or kittens they know about. For many reasons, these people can't take these poor animals into their homes so they care for them the best they can. They give them food and whatever shelter they can but the lives these animals are living is a struggle and they are suffering. We are getting more and more calls every day, especially as winter approaches. We do the best we can but we cannot take them all in, nor can we afford the vetting costs for every cat we are asked to help. So we decided to create this webpage to showcase these animals so potential adopters - you - can see them and (hopefully!) consider opening your home and your hearts and bringing them inside from the cold. If you are one of those people, please contact us as soon as possible.
We have many friendly and loving cats and kittens who can only be taken in and vetted if someone says they will adopt them. Otherwise they will remain outdoors because there is just no space and no funds to take them in. Contact us if you are willing to take a cat or kitten right off the street or sponsor one of them. If you are interested in adopting them, we will arrange to have you see them, get them into a short term foster home and to a vet. There are too many stray cats and kittens for us to take them all in. It is now up to you if you want to adopt or sponsor. Please contact us.
A success story - adopted directly from the outdoors
James Bond
Meet James - James Bond. He is about 2 years old so his date of birth is estimated to be around November 15, 2010. James was brought to his rescuers doorstep by his mother along with his brother. Since that time he has been fed by the homeowner and living around her property. He has an insulated, heated shelter but his rescuer thinks this lovely boy deserves to be in a good loving home. He has been neutered and vaccinated. The homeowner would love to take him inside but unfortunately her and her husband and are extremely allergic and their two big dogs do not like cats at all. James Bond got his name from the way he used to run from one tree to the next, moving like a spy on a mission. He is also a ladies’ man. He has become very cuddly with the homeowner in the past few months...he will let her pet him and will purr, walk around her legs and push his head into her hand. It is obvious he wants attention so the homeowner feels he is ready to go to a home with patient people who can transition James to life on the inside. He will need a home without little kids (he will still swipe at his rescuers hand sometimes but not often...just when he gets spooked). James is a sweetheart and will be missed by his rescuer who thinks he will adapt very easily to indoor life. If you are patient and caring, with room in your heart and home for this young cat, please consider James Bond when choosing your new feline family member. |
James Bond adopted with his friend Alice CooperA very scared cat, Alice Cooper, was seen on the fringes of the woods this winter He befriended James Bond, a friendly stray who was living in a warm winter house built for stray cats by a caring lady. I guess Alice Cooper also liked the heated winter house. Long story short, he began to trust the lady who had the outside shelters, he liked tummy rubs, and food, and hanging out with James Bond. A kind hearted lady decided to adopt both, even though she initially only saw them form a distance. She did not want to separate the friends. So now both are living together in a house that also has a dog. All being cared for by a very compassionate lady.
Thank you to the person who cared enough to build warm houses for strays and ensure that they got cared for by a vet and thank you to the lady who adopted two cats right from outdoors. You are both angels. |
