Cat Rescue Network took her in just in time! Two days later, on March 29/14, the foster went out and was greeted by an excited and talkative Olive. She noticed that Olive had given birth to 5 kittens (2 black/white, 1 black, 1 grey and 1 tabby) while she was out. The kittens were dry and quiet, lying in a heap in the middle of the floor.
Her foster mom says Olive was very excited about showing off her kittens and insisted that the foster stay beside her. She was so proud about her little ones. The foster placed all the kittens in a warm box, but Olive was not impressed. Instead, she painstakingly moved them under the couch in the middle of the night. The foster placed them in a covered box, but Olive again moved them under the couch, so the foster placed a blanket under the couch, and Olive was content.
Olive is a great mother, and clearly likes the attention she is getting in the foster home. She is a very good companion to have around. Grateful for everything she is given and not at all demanding. Olive needs a home that will appreciate how intelligent this young cat has been in order to survive, and that will be devoted enough to her to never allow the situation to reoccur.
