![]() Gabriel Hi, I am Gabriel, a beautiful black domestic shorthair. My estimated date of birth is June 7, 2012.
I was rescued just around the corner from the church next to Beechwood Cemetery, on a frigid winter night. I was very lucky that the priest at the church noticed me and called for help, and that a CRN volunteer was able to find and catch me. I was just little and it was around midnight during an awful cold spell in January 2013. You can imagine how hard it would be to spot a little black kitten at night on such a big property, and if the volunteer had not found me, my survival would have been very unlikely. It was my own little miracle. I lost an eye in an altercation with another cat but I am now healthy, vaccinated and neutered and ready to go to a forever home. After such a tough start, I am still a little timid and don't like loud noises. I like to play with wand toys and pom-poms, am very affectionate with people, and would love to cuddle and curl up to sleep with you. ![]() Ben Meet Ben a delightful brown and white tabby, born around January 8, 2013. Ben was first seen in Ottawa south in the summer of 2013. He was hanging around with feral cats and eating at the homes that put out food for the stray cats. When winter came, he used the winter houses made for the cats by a few caring people in the area.
Although he was not approachable, one of the people who fed him believed that he was not feral; something in his eyes said "please help me". Ben began to recognize her voice, and the sound of her car. He would come running whenever she was outside, but would not get too close. One cold day she noticed that he was limping and would not put his hind leg down. She trapped him, and brought him to a veterinarian through Cat Rescue Network. They found that he had severe frost bite on the pads of three feet, many scars and scratches, and had an abscess in his ear. He has now been treated, neutered and vaccinated and is doing very well. He is a gentle and friendly domestic cat, very grateful to be indoors and loving the warmth and attention. He likes other cats and gets on well with his foster mates. Ben needs a loving forever home; one that will appreciate this wonderful boy and who will ensure that he is never homeless again. ![]() Purrdy Paws, a feline mobile spa, is supporting the Cat Rescue Network by offering all adopters with proof of adoption a 5% discount. She cringed when hands reached towards her so had likely been mistreated, then abandoned. Today she found a forever home with a wonderful family. To read her entire story go to http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/28088865 ![]() Cat tree A very kind man donated a lovely cat tree to Cat Rescue Network when his cats are not impressed with it. He delivered and set the tree up by a window in a foster home that takes in many kittens. Tinny, Gabriel, Panda and Mitch, Carolyn's foster cats, immediately checked it out and as you can see, they really, really like it. A big thank you to the cat-lover who thought of our cats and decided to donate it. It is the purr-fect gift and many stray kittens will appreciate his kindness.
