Here is a wonderful Christmas story that ends happily for a little while cat named Snow.
He had been scrounging in a neighbourhood in Kanata since July; people fed him sometimes, but he was scared and people did not want to approach him. There are predators around there. Then 3 weeks ago a kind lady got worried about him but could not take him into her house permanently. She did trap him on her own, with difficulty, put him in her garage, made it very comfy with a heater, winter box, blankets, toys, food. She then began the long search for his home. Everyone was full.
All of our foster homes were full as well but we said we'd try to help her find him a home and have him seen by a vet.
He turned out to be a real sweetheart, loved the attention, let his rescuer and son pull burrs from his very thick winter coat, and was so grateful for his bachelor suite in the garage. We had not even received photos to post him yet when a family called looking for a cat. I told them about Snow, the cat in the garage, and said he was just in so we had no photos or vet information, but they decided to visit him in the garage. Snow's rescuers quickly got some dry shampoo and groomed him for his big meeting with potential adopters. He loved it.
The people really liked him; he even jumped up on the lady's knee as she sat in the garage. They decided to take him right away. Snow just finished all of his vetting and his new family has picked him up just in time for Christmas.
Here is the message we received from Snow's new family:
Volunteers at the Cat Rescue Network,
Words cannot express how grateful I am that you stepped in and helped when we found Snow. We didn't know what the future would hold for him but now with your generous help and effort he is going "home" to a family that will forever love him and care for him. We are blessed to have crossed your path and eternally grateful.
